Refunds and Right of Withdrawal

Last updated: 2026-10-02

In short

  • Money-back guarantee for everyone. Email hello@dearlywords.com within 7 days of your purchase and we refund the full price to your original payment method. You don't need to give a reason.
  • Right of withdrawal for consumers in the EU, the EEA and the UK. You normally have 14 days to withdraw from an online purchase. For our texts, this right ends as soon as delivery starts, because before paying you ask us to deliver right away and confirm that you understand you then lose this right.
  • Your legal rights are not affected. Our guarantee comes on top of your statutory rights, including your rights if a text is faulty.

Our 7-day money-back guarantee

This guarantee applies to every customer worldwide, whether you bought as a consumer or for a business.

How to ask for a refund

  1. Email hello@dearlywords.com within 7 days of your purchase.
  2. Tell us the email address you used at checkout, or send us your order link, so we can find your order.
  3. That's all. You don't need to give a reason.

We refund the full price to the payment method you used, and you won't be charged any fees for the refund. Depending on your bank or card provider, it may take a few days for the money to appear in your account.

The guarantee is voluntary. It does not replace or limit your statutory rights. We may refuse repeated refund requests that are clearly abusive.

Statutory right of withdrawal

This part applies if you are a consumer and the law that applies to your purchase gives you a right of withdrawal. This is the case in particular if you live in the EU, the EEA or the UK. In the UK, this right is called the "right to cancel". If you buy for a business, you have no statutory right of withdrawal, but you can still use our money-back guarantee.

Below is the withdrawal information in the wording of the official EU model, completed for our texts.

Right of withdrawal

You have the right to withdraw from this contract within 14 days without giving any reason.

The withdrawal period will expire after 14 days from the day of the conclusion of the contract.

To exercise the right of withdrawal, you must inform us ([company.legalName], [company.street], [company.city], [company.country], telephone: [company.phone], email: hello@dearlywords.com) of your decision to withdraw from this contract by an unequivocal statement (e.g. a letter sent by post or email). You may use the attached model withdrawal form, but it is not obligatory. You can also exercise your right of withdrawal online at https://dearlywords.com/en/withdraw/. If you use this function, we will communicate to you an acknowledgement of receipt of the withdrawal, including its content and the date and time of its submission, on a durable medium (e.g. by email) without undue delay.

To meet the withdrawal deadline, it is sufficient for you to send your communication concerning your exercise of the right of withdrawal before the withdrawal period has expired.

Effects of withdrawal

If you withdraw from this contract, we shall reimburse to you all payments received from you, including the costs of delivery (with the exception of the supplementary costs resulting from your choice of a type of delivery other than the least expensive type of standard delivery offered by us), without undue delay and in any event not later than 14 days from the day on which we are informed about your decision to withdraw from this contract. We will carry out such reimbursement using the same means of payment as you used for the initial transaction, unless you have expressly agreed otherwise; in any event, you will not incur any fees as a result of such reimbursement.

We do not charge any delivery costs for our texts.

When the right of withdrawal ends early

Our texts are digital content that is not supplied on a tangible medium. For such content, your right of withdrawal ends once we have started to supply it, if:

  1. you gave your prior express consent for the supply to begin before the end of the 14-day withdrawal period,
  2. you acknowledged that you thereby lose your right of withdrawal, and
  3. we gave you a confirmation of this.

This follows from Article 16(m) of the EU Consumer Rights Directive (2011/83/EU) and, in the UK, from regulation 37 of the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013.

This is how it works with us. Before you pay, you tick an unticked box with this text:

"I want my text right away. I agree that delivery starts before the 14-day withdrawal period ends, and I understand I lose my right of withdrawal once it has started."

Delivery starts immediately after payment. We confirm your consent and acknowledgement on your order page and by email. From that moment, the statutory right of withdrawal no longer applies, but our 7-day money-back guarantee still does.

If you were not asked for this consent, or if delivery has not started yet, your right of withdrawal does not end early.

Model withdrawal form

If you want to withdraw from the contract, you can copy this form, complete it and send it to us, for example by email to hello@dearlywords.com. Using it is optional.

(Complete and return this form only if you wish to withdraw from the contract.)

To [company.legalName], [company.street], [company.city], [company.country], email: hello@dearlywords.com:

I/We (*) hereby give notice that I/We (*) withdraw from my/our (*) contract for the supply of the following digital content:

Ordered on (*)/received on (*):

Name of consumer(s):

Address of consumer(s):

Signature of consumer(s) (only if this form is notified on paper):

Date:

(*) Delete as appropriate.

To help us find your order quickly, please also give us the email address you used at checkout or your order link.

If a text is faulty

If a text is faulty or not as described, for example if it is incomplete or your order page doesn't work, you have legal rights in addition to the right of withdrawal and our guarantee. Under EU law on digital content (Directive (EU) 2019/770) and, in the UK, the Consumer Rights Act 2015, you can ask us to put it right. If that isn't possible, you may be entitled to a price reduction or a refund. These rights still apply after the right of withdrawal has ended. Just write to hello@dearlywords.com.
