Terms of Service

Last updated: 2026-10-02

These terms apply when you use Dearly at dearlywords.com and when you buy a text from us. Please read them before you pay. If you buy as a consumer, nothing in these terms takes away the rights you have under the mandatory consumer protection laws of the country where you live.

The short version

  • You answer a few questions, see the beginning of your first draft for free and then decide whether to buy. You pay once per text. There is no subscription and no account.
  • Each purchase includes three versions of your text, editing on our website, a set number of AI rewrites, copying and a printable card.
  • You get your text right after payment on a private order page. Anyone with the link can open it, so keep the link private.
  • The texts are written by AI. Read them carefully before you use them.
  • The texts are yours to use. We claim no rights in them.
  • Not happy? Email us within 7 days of your purchase and we will refund you in full. No reason needed.

1. Who we are

Dearly is operated by [company.legalName], [company.street], [company.city], [company.country] ("we", "us", "our"). You can reach us at hello@dearlywords.com. Our full company details are in the Imprint.

2. Who can buy

  • You must be at least 18 years old.
  • You can buy as a private person (a consumer) or for a business, for example when a company writes to a client. Some rights described in these terms apply only to consumers. We say so where that is the case.
  • You can conclude a contract with us in English, French or German. Your contract is concluded in the language of the site version you use.

3. What you can buy

We write two kinds of texts:

  • Wedding vows for your own ceremony, whether secular, civil or religious, or for a vow renewal.
  • Condolence messages for a card, a text message, a letter or a work email.

Each purchase is for one text and includes:

  • three versions of your text, written by AI from your answers;
  • the option to edit every version yourself on our website;
  • AI rewrites based on your instructions: 10 for wedding vows and 5 for a condolence message;
  • copying the text and printing a card with your browser's print dialog.

You pay once for each text. There is no subscription and you don't need an account.

4. Free preview

Before you pay, you can see the beginning of the first version for free. The rest stays hidden until you buy. To prevent misuse, we limit the number of free previews per day. A preview does not commit you to anything.

5. Ordering and payment

How your order works

  1. You answer the questionnaire and see your free preview.
  2. On our page you see the product, what it includes and the total price. Until you pay, you can go back and change your answers.
  3. If you are in the EU, the EEA, the UK or Switzerland, you tick a box to confirm that you want your text right away (see section 7).
  4. We take you to Stripe Checkout, a secure payment page hosted by our payment provider, Stripe. There you can check and correct your details before you pay, or leave the page to cancel.
  5. Your contract with us is concluded when you complete payment on the Stripe page.

Price and payment

You pay the total price shown on our page and on the Stripe payment page before you complete payment. There are no delivery charges. Our prices may change from time to time, but the price shown before you pay is the one that applies to your order.

Payment is processed by Stripe. You can use the payment methods shown on the Stripe page, for example cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay or Link. We do not accept bank debits.

6. Delivery and your private order page

Your text is delivered immediately after payment on a private order page, which you reach through a unique link. We also send you this link and a confirmation of your order by email, and Stripe may send you a payment receipt.

  • Keep the link private. Anyone who has the link can open your order, read and edit the texts and use the remaining rewrites. If you think someone else has your link, contact us.
  • Save your texts. Your order page stays available for 24 months after your purchase. After that, we delete your answers and texts. Copy, print or save your texts before then, for example with "Save as PDF" in the print dialog.

If you can't see your text after paying, write to hello@dearlywords.com and we will sort it out.

7. Refunds and your right of withdrawal

Our 7-day money-back guarantee

Every customer, anywhere in the world, can ask for a full refund within 7 days of the purchase. Just email hello@dearlywords.com. You don't need to give a reason. We refund the full price to your original payment method.

This guarantee is voluntary. It comes on top of your legal rights and does not limit them. We may refuse repeated refund requests that are clearly abusive.

Statutory right of withdrawal

If you are a consumer and the law that applies to your purchase gives you a right of withdrawal, as it does for consumers in the EU, the EEA and the UK, you normally have 14 days to withdraw from an online purchase. For digital content such as our texts, this right ends once delivery has started, provided you agreed to immediate delivery and acknowledged that you would lose your right of withdrawal. You do this before you pay by ticking a box that reads:

"I want my text right away. I agree that delivery starts before the 14-day withdrawal period ends, and I understand I lose my right of withdrawal once it has started."

We confirm your consent and acknowledgement on your order page and by email. The full withdrawal information and a model withdrawal form are on our Refunds and Right of Withdrawal page.

8. About AI-written texts

  • Your texts are generated by an AI model (Claude, made by Anthropic) from the answers you give us.
  • AI can make mistakes. A text may contain wrong details, mix up names or include wording that doesn't fit. Read every text carefully before you use it, and edit it or ask for a rewrite if needed. You decide what you finally say or send.
  • Many people describe similar moments, so similar wording may also appear in texts written for other users.
  • Where technically feasible, we mark the texts as AI-generated in a machine-readable form, as required by Article 50(2) of the EU AI Act.
  • Our writer refuses requests for hateful, harassing, sexual or dangerous content.
  • We do not publish your texts and we do not use them to train AI models.

9. Your rights in the texts

We claim no rights in your texts. You can use, change, copy, print and share them however you like, privately or for your business.

To the extent that any rights in a text arise for us, we grant you an exclusive, perpetual, worldwide and royalty-free right to use the text in any way, and where the law allows, we assign those rights to you. Please note that purely AI-generated text may not be protected by copyright, so you may not be able to stop others from using similar wording.

Your answers remain yours. We use them only to provide the service to you: to write, store and display your texts.

10. Acceptable use

When you use Dearly, you must not:

  • ask for or create content that is unlawful, defamatory, harassing or hateful;
  • impersonate another person or mislead others about who you are;
  • access the service with bots, scripts or other automated or bulk methods;
  • try to get around free preview limits, rewrite limits, payment or security measures.

Please only enter information about other people that you are entitled to share and that you want in your text. Our writer may decline requests, including rewrite requests, that break these rules.

11. If something is wrong

If your order page doesn't work or a text is incomplete, contact us at hello@dearlywords.com and we will put it right. Consumers in the EU, the EEA and the UK have legal rights when digital content is faulty or not as described, for example the right to have it put right and, if that isn't possible, to a price reduction or a refund. These terms don't affect those rights.

12. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, the service and the texts are provided "as is" and "as available". We do not promise that the service will always be available or free of errors, or that a text will suit a particular purpose, occasion or audience. It is your responsibility to check a text before you use it.

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost profits or lost data, and our total liability for all claims relating to an order is limited to the amount you paid for that order.

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, for damage caused intentionally or through gross negligence, or for any other liability that cannot be limited or excluded by law. Some US states do not allow certain disclaimers or limitations of liability, so some of the above may not apply to you.

If you are a consumer in the EU, the EEA or the UK, the first two paragraphs of this section do not apply to the extent that they would limit your statutory rights. We are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breaking these terms or our failing to use reasonable care and skill.

13. Privacy

How we handle your personal data is explained in our Privacy Policy.

14. Disputes and governing law

If something goes wrong, please contact us first at hello@dearlywords.com. Most problems can be solved quickly by email.

These terms and every purchase are governed by [company.governingLaw]. If you are a consumer, this choice of law does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory provisions of the law of the country where you have your habitual residence. As a consumer, you can also bring a claim in the courts of the country where you live.

15. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Changes apply only to future purchases. Your purchase is governed by the version that was in force when you paid.

16. Other

If a court finds part of these terms invalid, the rest remains in effect. You can save or print these terms from this page at any time.
